Dear Moon,
What did you bring?
So bright and full, with darkness all around.
I saw you!
With your silvery hues illuminating the black sky.
You showed me how to bring light to my shadow
with ease and compassion, not hate.
Reminded me all endings bring new beginnings —
a natural fluid cycle, mingling light and dark,
a balance of both, without frantically grasping to either.
Your celestial teachings are both
mysterious and enchanting!
I’ll be sure to greet you upon your next full moon cycle.
With love,
Your Faithful Observer.

In honor of the recent supermoon. This poem is from my first poetry collection, “Into the Darkness, Become the Light” (see homepage).
